A Gender Equality Workshop was held at RWTH Aachen University at the 2nd October 2026, bringing together colleagues from RWTH Aachen University and İzmir Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü to exchange experiences and good practices on gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.

The workshop began with Prof. Burkhard Corves introducing the TWIN-IT-ROMANS project and its objectives. Ramona Böing, Deputy Equal Opportunities Officer at RWTH Aachen University, then presented the university’s activities, initiatives, and institutional approaches to equality and diversity. Following this, Asst. Prof. Benay Uzer, Gender Equality Manager of the TWIN-IT-ROMANS project, shared the gender equality activities carried out within the project and ongoing initiatives at IZTECH.

The workshop concluded with a lively and inspiring exchange of experiences, ideas, and good practices. The discussions highlighted the value of learning from one another and created new opportunities to continue the dialogue beyond the workshop. We look forward to building on this exchange and further strengthening collaboration between RWTH Aachen University and IZTECH on gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in academia!
